Effective 20 August 2026. Treegens Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
The short version. You give through Zeffy. We plant mangroves and show you the plot on video and GPS. Ten cents is an average planting cost, not a named tree and not a survival guarantee. Nothing here is an investment or a carbon credit.
This website
These terms apply when you use treegensfoundation.org, including the donation pages, gift certificates, and contact or updates forms. The privacy notice covers what we collect. If the two pages ever differ on data handling, the privacy notice wins for that topic.
Donations
Donations are processed by Zeffy. Your card details go to Zeffy, never to this site. Zeffy charges the Foundation no platform fee, so the amount you give reaches Treegens Foundation. Zeffy emails your tax receipt. This site never sends one.
Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Legal name, EIN, and mailing address are published on other ways to give.
Monthly gifts have no lock-in. You can pause, change, or cancel at any time. If a payment looks wrong, a receipt is missing, or you want a refund looked at, contact us.
What 10 cents covers, and what it does not
About ten cents funds one mangrove seedling planted by a local team on a coastline plot we film before and after and log by GPS. That figure is an average planting cost across a run. It is not a per-tree invoice, not a quote for one named tree, and not a survival guarantee.
You get proof of the plot: footage, coordinates you can open on satellite, and a counted total. You do not get a certificate for one individual tree unless you use the gift trees page to dedicate a bundle and make a certificate yourself.
Proof
The plot 01 count and coordinates on the homepage are numbers we verify ourselves, with the original files linked. The AI count is our own reading of our own footage, measured at better than 97.5% accuracy. It is not an independent audit. Ethiopia-day figures and ministerial commitments are reported campaign totals, not trees planted by Treegens alone, and we have not yet published a public source link for them.
What we do not claim
This site does not sell carbon credits, offsets, or income. A gift is a donation to plant mangroves and publish evidence of the work. It is not an investment, a token purchase, or a promise that a seedling will survive.
Gift certificates
The certificate maker fills in a name, message, tree count, date, and the published plot 01 coordinates. It does not itself process a payment. Give first through Zeffy, then create the certificate. The certificate never shows how much you spent.
Contact and updates
The contact form is for donation problems, receipts, monthly-gift changes, trees, stock or DAF gifts, and business partnerships. The updates list is optional. You can unsubscribe at any time. We read every contact message.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the forms, scrape the site in a way that burdens it, or submit other people's personal data without a reason to contact us on their behalf. We may rate-limit or ignore abusive traffic.
Changes
If we change these terms, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. It applies to use of the site after that date. Past gifts stay under the facts that were true when you gave: Zeffy processed the payment, and the Foundation received it.
